== Description ==

The trail is not blazed with paint. It's marked with yellow metal diamond markers. As with most trails motorized vehicles fires are not permitted along the trail. As this trail crosses private property, the trail may have additional restrictions per the wishes of the property owners. Hikers should obey any posted restrictions that are posted.

This portion of the trail lies in the [[Rocky Glen State Park]]. The section from the south end of the park to the waterfall is relatively flat and easy going. North of the point where Al's trail intersects with the white trail, the terrain becomes increasingly difficult. The trail narrows and the elevation increases. There is also loose rock in this region. There is a sign along the trail that says "Loose rock. To proceed, must have mountain goat skill" 

The trail continues north and intersects with Walnut Tree Hill Rd. There is no parking at this intersection.

The continuation of the trail can be hard to find south of Church Hill Rd. If hiking in the southern direction, walk around the church. There is a narrow pathway to the left of the play ground. After walking along this path for a little bit the yellow blazes continue.

The trail south of Rocky Glen State Park is in desperate need of trail maintenance as of June of 2009. The trail is over grown in some areas so much that the path has disappeared. The yellow metal blazes are hidden behind green growth and are hard to spot.

There is a ~6 foot stream crossing just south of the bridge for 84. There is no means of crossing this stream other than wading through it. The water is 2-6 inches at this crossing.

It is not recommended that this portion of the trail be hiked until future maintenance is performed. There is some worked planned for July of 2009.

This trail is heavily overgrown and has fallen trees across it. It is not recommended that this portion of the trail be hiked as of June of 2009.

Note that the trail map that is distributed by the Newtown Land Trust (as of June of 2009) is incorrect. This trail map indicates that it is possible to finish the trail at Head O’ Meadow School. It does not. The trail ends at the intersection of the train track and Deep Brook. It is a dead end at this point and you must turn around and hike back. The brook is about 6 feet wide and around a foot deep. If you are adventurous it is possible to leap across the brook and forge your way to the school. Be prepared to get wet. There is no sign or trail head from the school side.
